Wells (right) lands a left jab to the head of Arther Townley in their 1919 fight at Holborn Stadium.Wells won in the ninth round. As Trevor Wignall said about the bold bombardier: "he was the greatest natural-born Thespian boxing has so far produced, who handed out most of the drama".
