Jim Driscoll had a celebrated Welsh, British and European career before crossing the Atlantic. In defeating the best America could put against him, and in concluding an unbroken line of success with the decisive victory over Abe Attell, the Featherweight Championship of the World, he won an honour, not only for himself and his native city of Cardiff, but also for the whole of Great Britain.
